A new exhibition at South Shields Museum and Art Gallery until 13th of April 2024 features the work of Vince Rea, best known as the founder of the Bede Gallery in Jarrow.
The gallery was open from 1970 to 1996 and housed in a converted nuclear bunker in Jarrow’s Springwell Park.
The exhibition features a variety of work from Rea from ceramics to prints to abstract paintings and includes sections of the large work ‘The Gibbeting of William Jobling’.
