Subject Guide: Arts and Design

This guide brings together library resources for your studies and research. Use these resources alongside your recommended reading from your tutors to extend your research into new areas.

Welcome

In this guide you'll find useful information about the most important library resources for arts and design subjects, alongside support to make best use of them. Subjects include fine art, photography, glass and ceramics, animation, illustration, graphic design and fashion. Use these pages to access your key resources, inspire your professional practice and keep up to date with developments in your subject.

  • Suzie Williams is your Academic Liaison Librarian and can help you find relevant information for your assignments and research, give advice on using specialist resources such as exhibition catalogues, and help you keep up to date with literature in your discipline. As well as giving tips on using key resources she will post updates and spotlight particularly useful or new resources to help you with your research.

Students will see timetabled sessions with Suzie embedded within modules. If you need individual support, whether you are a student, researcher, or member of staff, you can book a one-to-one appointment with Suzie. Students can also pop into our regular library drop-ins and workshops to further develop your academic skills, or book an appointment with a Study Skills Adviser. Suzie and the rest of the library team look forward to meeting you.

For more details on using library facilities take a look at the Library Essentials videos and training sessions.
