Interlibrary Loans

A guide about how to request material not held in our collections or available through our subscriptions.

University of Sunderland Library Services can fulfil requests for loans from other libraries. Requests can be made via email either manually or through your library management system. Please include your British Library account number and request reference number in your initial request.

All loans are initially for eight weeks. Provided that the item has not been requested by our own students or staff, items can be renewed; please e-mail us to discuss a renewal.

  • Items on reading lists (dependent on the number of copies).
  • Reference material.
  • Fragile or unsuitably bound items.
  • Items from our special collections and secure collections.

Please note that we reserve the right to decline a request for any reason.
