I'm Leanne Young and I am your Academic Liaison Librarian (Hospitality, Events, Aviation and Tourism).
I'm looking forward to meeting you in your classes in a few weeks to share with you how to make best use of the library resources.
Until then I wanted to share a few useful tips and links for your first few weeks:
Pop into the Libraries
Pop in and have a look around. Explore the study spaces and browse the shelves for your subjects - the print resources for everything except esports are at St. Peter's Library (esports is at Library@ David Goldman.)
Book a tour or introductory session about the Library
Visit the Library Essentials Guide where you will find some information on getting started and you can sign up for a short tour of the library or perhaps learn about how to use some of the technology (such as printing and Wi-Fi).
Ask us if you have a question
You can always ask library staff if you have a question - we're always happy to see you in person but we also have a 24/7 chat service for when you need it. Find out more about contacting the Library.
The International Journal of Event and Festival Management is one of the key journals for the Event Management programme. Below we've shared a few articles that have been published in recent episodes:
- Davies, N. et al. (2023) “Investigating the recovery of community events in Scotland, post-COVID-19,” International journal of event and festival management, 14(4), pp. 537–55
- Oliva, J. (2023) “An emotional perspective of music festival experience evaluation: a new model of emotional analysis,” International journal of event and festival management, 14(3), pp. 310–325
- Steriopoulos, E. and Ooi, C.-S. (2023) “Transformative service research approaches for visitor experiences in major sporting events,” International journal of event and festival management, 14(2), pp. 189–204
- García Revilla, R., Martinez Moure, O. and Einsle, C.S. (2023) “Advances in event management using new technologies and mobile applications,” International journal of event and festival management, 14(1), pp. 56–72
CABI who provide the Leisure Tourism database are migrating to a new CABI Digital Library. The Library will be updating all links via Library Search but if you use CABI to save alerts and searches you will need to take some action so that you can transfer them to the new system.
