Notes in your Sage eBooks: action required before 30/09/25

Have you been taking notes in eBooks during your studies? If so, well done! It's a fabulous way to consolidate your knowledge and good note taking is the foundation for critical reading. If you have done this and plan to use those notes in your assignments this year, please be aware that one of our eBook platforms is migrating and your notes will be lost if you don't take action before 30 September 2025

To see whether you impacted, please do the following:

  1. Search for the relevant book title in Library Search
  2. Identify whether it is a Sage Catalyst eBook. You can see whether this is the case in the Library Search record, as there will be links to both Sage Catalyst and Vital Source in the ‘Access Online’ section of the eBook record, as illustrated by the screenshot.
  3. If it is not, no action is needed
  4. If it is a Sage Catalyst eBook, you must log into the Sage Catalyst platform to access your notes. This is the second option in the list, outlined in red on the screenshot.
  5. Navigate to your notes and copy and paste those notes to a separate document like Microsoft Word or you could open the eBook in Vital Source and paste your notes into there. You could also take a screenshot of your notes

  6. Return to step 1 for each eBook where you would like to maintain access to your notes.

Sage Catalyst eBooks will only be available to you on the VitalSource platform from 1 October 2025.

If you would like to make new notes, please make sure to access the eBook using the VitalSource platform. If you need help or would like to be in touch, please send us a chat. You aan also read more about this migration in our FAQs
