Buzan's revision cycle is a technique involving repetition of concepts over increasing lengths of time so that your mind returns to it again and again.
The cycle is based upon repetition.
Reduce your notes to key words after the session.
The next day write out key words from memory using your original notes to remind yourself if you can't recall information.
A week later write out the notes from memory and use the original notes to complete any gaps.
A month later write out the notes again and plug any gaps.
Six months later repeat this again.
