Subject Guide: Social Sciences

This guide brings together library resources for your studies and research. Use these resources alongside your recommended reading from your tutors to extend your research into new areas.

How can Other Key Subject Resources Help me?

If you refer to the Generic Assessment Criteria on an assignment you will find you can get higher marks for using a wide range of resources. Other Key Subject Resources give you access to numerous resources outside of our university library collections which are relevant for different Social Science degrees. These include:

  • Organisations - charities, professional bodies, research institutes and think-tanks. You can find research reports, statistics, codes of conduct and professional frameworks on their websites.
  • Programmes and Podcasts - includes radio.
  • Reports and Documents - includes research reports and guidance and policy documents from government departments.
  • Websites - includes charity and governmental websites.

Organisations, Reports and Documents and Websites are organised by degree area. Each information source may be useful across more than on degree subject area.
