Study Skills support for staff

We have an established and University-endorsed study skills strategy.

Our strategy takes a wide view of skills, incorporating the  University's commitment to a research-active curriculum, graduate employability, and digital literacy. Information literacy is central to study skills, including academic skills such as critical thinking and academic writing.

Please complete the 'STAFF Study skills session request form' below to organise a study skills or library support session.

Our Skills Offer below outlines the range of topics we can deliver to your students. All sessions can be tailored to fit the curriculum and level of study. If you have a bespoke topic in mind please detail this through the request form and we will be in touch to discuss your requirements.

We have created and sourced key resources that support the learning and teaching of academic skills. You can use, adapt, and embed them in your teaching. These reusable learning resources are available under a Creative Commons licence., allowing you to download, customise, or link to the resources to support skills development in your teaching, provided that you attribute the University of Sunderland Library as the source of the work. All students can also access the generic version of materials from our website or within Canvas.
