Questions

If you have any study skills questions you can log in to the Library Chat and ask questions during the Study Skills Daily Drop-in.

Study Skills Advisers are logged into the chat at the following times:

Monday 11:30-1

Tuesday 3:30-4:30

Wednesday 3:30-4:30

Thursday 3:30-4:30

Friday 11:30-1

Study Skills Advisers will be available to answer your academic study skills queries. Our Daily Drop-ins are perfect for asking your referencing queries, where we will often be able to give you the instant support you need to move on with your assignment. This could be help with referencing different types of resources such as Journal Articles, eBooks, or even podcasts; or how to perfect an in-text citation.

Study Skills support can also help with tips to help your academic writing; revision skills; time management; or even dissertation guidance for those doing dissertations now and those getting ahead and planning for dissertations. You can access up to 10 minutes of guidance at each Daily Drop-in session to get the support you need to move on with your assignment.

Masterclass workshops

To develop your study skills, why not book onto a Study Skills Masterclass?

They are run by Study Skills Advisers and focus on the fundamentals or to stretch a particular study skill. Keep an eye out for more masterclasses as they are open to all students and run on a rolling programme.

One to One appointments

One-to-one study skills appointments are available to all Sunderland Campus undergraduate, taught-postgraduate, and Independent Distance Learning students (this does not include Sunderland Online programmes). They are a confidential one-to-one or small group appointment with a Study Skills Adviser or Academic Liaison Librarian lasting up to one hour.

We also offer Numeracy Support and have a dedicated Study Skills Adviser for Numeracy if you would like to discuss this in an appointment. You can book an appointment at the link below.
