The English for Academic Purposes team (EAP) provides a wide range of academic and language support to current University of Sunderland students. Students who have English as an additional language can enrol in various short courses offered throughout the academic year, attend workshops, and book one-to appointments with an EAP specialist for advice and guidance. We also offer Academic English for Native Speakers courses for students whose first language is English, while our English for Business Studies courses are designed for students who speak English as a second language and are enrolled on Business-related programmes.

While students are encouraged to identify which academic areas they wish to develop and can contact the EAP team for advice and guidance,  the form below allows staff who work closely with students to refer them for English for Academic Purposes support.

After your form is submitted, it will be reviewed by the EAP team and you will receive an emailed response. Please be aware during busy periods and vacation time it may take a few days before you get a response.
