English for Academic Purposes - Home

Develop your English language skills and achieve in your main programme of study. Take an academic English language class to develop your spoken and written academic English.

The Language Centre

The Language Centre is located in Room WV108 on the first floor of the Wearside View Building, part of The Sir Tom Cowie Campus at St Peter's.

The Language Centre is a friendly and inviting space where students can access language learning materials, study, or simply socialise with fellow language learners while waiting for their classes to start.

We offer a variety of digital and print resources, PCs equipped with the latest language learning technology, and dedicated areas for self-study. Our language technician is also on hand to offer guidance and help you make the most of our resources, all within a relaxed and supportive environment.

🗣️ Our Conversation Club

Join us every Friday from 10am-11am in the Language Centre for a relaxed and engaging way to practise your English!

Enjoy lively discussions on current topics, try out the latest language learning technology, or have fun with interactive games. All skill levels welcome!
