Study Skills- Transitioning to University

A guide to some skills to develop when transitioning to university study.

What is 'plagiarism' and how do I avoid it?

Plagiarism is when you put someone else’s work into yours without acknowledging the original creator.

When you're working through your assignments, you're expected to use the work of others - as long as you cite and reference your work correctly, you should have no issues with plagiarism. Anything and everything you use that's not yours MUST be referenced!

Plagiarism has serious consequences so make sure you're correctly referenced by using Cite Them Right. Our section on Referencing covers everything you need to know about staying on the right track.
