SURE - University of Sunderland Institutional Repository

SURE is the Institutional Research Repository at the University of Sunderland. SURE can provide free and unlimited access for anyone with a connection to the world wide web to research outputs produced by staff and PhD students at the university.  These outputs include, but are not limited to: journal articles, books and book chapters, art works, PhD theses, conference papers, project reports, podcasts, and what is often called grey literature (published and unpublished material that still constitutes research, for example: unpublished conference papers, blog posts, contribution to professional magazines or society magazines).

All research outputs produced at the University of Sunderland are archived in SURE.  Our Research Publication, Open Access and Copyright policy states that Author Accepted Manuscripts (AAM) of journal articles are uploaded and made available in SURE, without any barrier, wherever possible.

Where copyright does not permit archiving of the full text of published work, SURE will always contain a full bibliographic record of the output, and a link to where the published version can be sourced.  You can also request a copy of any item that is not openly available on SURE.

SURE is a great resource that highlights the research being done by staff at the university.  It is part of the wider Open Access initiative that aims to reduce the financial barriers to research.

It is a good idea to familiarise yourself with SURE - your thesis will we uploaded to it and made available to the public one day!
